This period is used as an organised strategy by Governments\, Non-Governmental Organisations\, churches\, individuals and other groups to call for the elimination of all forms of Violence against Women. \nThe 25th November is the “International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women”\, and within the Sixteen Days period we highlight two other significant dates: \n\nDecember 1\, which is the “world aids day”; and\nDecember 10\, the “world human rights day”.\n\n  \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThis year\, Gender Division will be launching a National Campaign entitled “Are you Safe…?’’ At work\, at home\, at school?” This Campaign resonates well with this year’s theme as it focuses on highlighting violence against women and girls that occurs at home\, work places and in schools.
